Serving Monmouth, and Ocean counties, the Law Office and Mediation Center of George J. Chehanske focuses exclusively on family law matters and is committed to helping families resolve their disputes in a dignified and respectful manner at a fair cost. With more than 33 years of experienced Mr. Chehanske is dedicated to helping clients make good choices during the trying time of divorce regardless of the process used to resolve their matter be it Mediation, Collaborative Law or Traditional Litigation

Most people believe that filing for divorce always results in a court battle. Actually, very few divorce cases end up in a trial. In New Jersey less than one half of one percent of the divorce cases filed are resolved by a trial. If your case is one of the few Mr. Chehanske is an experienced trial attorney and will zealously represent you in that proceeding. However, there are alternatives to court which may work well for you including mediation or collaboration law.

Ending a relationship is an extremely upsetting event. Research has shown that divorce and/or separation is the third most stressful life event a person can experience, topped only by the death of a loved one or incarceration. Because of that high amount of emotional stress the last thing a person needs is an attorney who does not understand or appreciate the dynamics of the situation, and as a result makes the matter worse. Mr. Chehanske will use his experience and expertise to guide you through this tough time with the least amount of stress, conflict, emotional and financial cost as possible. He encourages settling disputed family matters on fair terms at the earliest time possible in a respectful and dignified manner at a reasonable cost.

Mr. Chehanske is a New Jersey Supreme Court approved Family Law Mediator, a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators, the International Academy of Collaborative Law Professionals, the Jersey Shore Collaborative Law Group, the Mid-Jersey Collaborative Law Alliance, and the Collaborative Law Professionals of New Jersey.
